Funding Update

In 2007, Touchstones Nelson looks forward to a full slate of fundraising events and activities. After the successful completion of the MAAG on the Move Capital Campaign in 2006, the organization is now focused on raising funds to assist with exhibition development, caring for the permanent collection, launching school and family programming, and creating even greater long-term financial stability for the organization. We will accomplish these goals by developing and marketing:

  • Exhibition Sponsorship packages for local and regional businesses and corporations with an interest in high-profile opportunities;
  • Program Sponsorships with local and regional businesses and corporations with an interest in promoting educational objectives;
  • Launching two new annual fundraising events – a Heritage Home tour in late June and a gala evening at the Touchstones facility in mid-October. Check the Touchstones website for further updates on these exciting events;
  • Participating in the BC Arts Renaissance Program that matches, dollar for dollar, all donations to the Touchstones Nelson Endowment Fund, held in trust by the Osprey Community Foundation. In 2006, the Touchstones fund increased by $29,000 thanks to the generous support of local donors and the Renaissance Program. In 2007, the Touchstones Board of Directors will take on the Endowment Fund campaign as a Board initiative;
  • An Individual Donor Campaign focused primarily on the generous supporters of the MAAG on the Move Capital Campaign. The donor campaign will kick-off in September;
  • Special events for significant donors and Gold Level Members of the organization;
  • Rentals of the facility for business events and meetings, social gatherings, weddings, and other activities. Touchstones features a Board Room, Turret Meeting Room, Lobby and Gallery spaces.
